Polina Proutskova

I've been involved with different kinds of folk and traditional music for many years as performer, researcher, musical director and lecturer. My musical training was in Russian traditional singing as well as in popular music and jazz. I undertook field research trips to various regions of Russia, where I learnt traditional songs from old women and documented their way of life. I worked with Sephardic and Bulgarian singers and learnt Armenian, Georgian and Persian songs.
